another rainy spring!
This spring's heavy rains have again found damaged and displaced tiles on the roof, staining the ceiling of the back bedroom.

This spring's heavy rains have again found damaged and displaced tiles on the roof, staining the ceiling of the back bedroom.
After a half day on the roof, and replacing more than 20 old, frost-damaged tiles, we can declare the roof watertight once more. I suppose these traditional springtime repairs are part of life in the mountains, but I look forward to the day we can fix 'guaina' (waterproof felt) under the tiles to make the roof more fail-safe.
